Dr. Robert Hughes
(Physiotherapist)
Robert Hughes graduated with a physiotherapy degree in 1981 from Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences, Melbourne. After working at Gippsland Base Hospital (Sale) for 5 years, most of his physiotherapy career has been in private practice in Sale and Bairnsdale, with special interest in spinal, sporting and work–related injuries. He has also worked as head of outpatient physiotherapy in Brunei where he was also physiotherapist for one of the prince’s soccer teams, as well as FIFO to remote health centres in East Arnhem and Groot Eylandt NT. More recently Robert has worked as a physiotherapist in aged care in Melbourne and Sale.
After taking 2 years off to help his son start up a floating entertainment business in Melbourne Robert is looking forward to returning to work as a physiotherapist at McMillan Chiropractic Centres.
Robert grew up in Lakes Entrance and went to St. Pats College in Sale. He has lived most his life in the Gippsland region.
Robert married his wife Karen in 1984 and they have 3 children, Abbey (Byron Shire), Jake (Melbourne) and Elani (Melbourne). They also have 3 grandchildren (+ one on it’s way) living in the Byron Shire.
When not working, Robert enjoys boating and fishing, attempting to master golf, and tending to his vege patch.
