Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Andrew Olijnyk is the owner and principal practitioner at the Gippsland Acupuncture Centre and he is pleased to bring this ancient healing art to the McMillan Chiropractic Centre. After completing a Bachelor of Science- Honours degree in Human Biology at the University of Waterloo, Canada, he travelled throughout Asia perusing his interest in the health sciences and studying more traditional health methods. It was a Korean Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that not only helped him with a trying medical condition of his own but also inspired him to engage in the study of the Chinese Healing Arts, resulting in a Doctor of TCM Diploma from the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Canada.
Andrew has been living in Sale with his wife and daughter for two years and is Sales newest addition to the ever-growing field of alternative health care.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an integrated system of holistic health care that has an uninterrupted history of use and development in China and other parts of East Asia dating back to over five thousand years. Andrew uses this holistic model to determine a treatment that is unique to you. Regardless of the condition for which you are seeking treatment, Andrew believes it is imperative to treat the whole person. He is passionate about healing and the journey towards well being and happiness.
Andrew specialises acupuncture but may also use cupping, moxibustion, massage or herbal supplements, as the situation requires, in order to support your journey to well being.
What to expect?
Your first appointment with Andrew will take an hour. You can expect to spend some time in conversation, going through the initial intake forms that you have filled out. In addition to the information that you provide, Andrew will take your pulse and look at your tongue. These details will assist him in designing a treatment that is specific to your condition. During your acupuncture treatment, Andrew will advise you of any homework that may be helpful to you in achieving your health goals. Results of treatment do vary depending on several factors. Often, the first change you will notice is an improvement in sleep, digestion and energy levels. You’ll feel like your old self again.
